LAPX by PUNO is inside PUNO Advance Guwahati, on NH 37 at Lalung Gaon Road, Lokhra, near Binod Nissan Betkuchi, Sonaighuli. It is North-East India's first high-tech go-karting arena and the only PUNO centre with a track — there is no karting at the Jaipur, Pune or Lucknow venues. The circuit shares the building with the trampoline arena, bowling, VR, the arcade and a Giant Swing, so most guests pair a race with something else.

Races are priced per driver at the track and are not currently listed among the online packs, which cover Full Play from Rs 1,887 including GST, Quick Play from Rs 707 including GST and Junior Fun Play from Rs 943 including GST. Weekday rates run lower than weekends, and combining a race with a trampoline or gaming pack usually costs less than buying separately. What is the minimum age for go karting at LAPX?

Everything outside the kids zone at PUNO Guwahati is for guests aged 7 and above, and LAPX adds its own height requirement at the track for solo driving. Anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian to complete the waiver form before racing. Every first-time driver goes through a safety briefing regardless of age, so nobody is put on track cold.

Do I need a driving licence to go karting?

No licence, no prior experience, nothing. Marshals brief you on the pedals, the steering, the flag signals and the racing line before your first session, and the karts are governed so a beginner cannot get into trouble on lap one. Plenty of first-timers book LAPX having never driven anything.

Are the go-karts electric or petrol?

Electric. High-performance electric karts deliver torque instantly off the line rather than building through a rev range, which makes them quicker out of corners than a comparable petrol kart. They also run far quieter and produce no exhaust fumes, which matters a great deal on an enclosed indoor circuit where the air has nowhere to go.

How long does a race last?

Sessions are sold by lap count rather than by the clock, so the time on track depends on the format you pick and how the pack is running. Budget more than the race itself — the briefing, helmet and gear fitting and the wait between heats all add up, and weekends run longer between sessions. Confirm the lap count for your session when you book.

What should I wear for go karting?

Accepted Answer

Closed-toe shoes with a flat sole, and clothes you can move in. Loose scarves, dupattas, dangling jewellery and long open hair have to be secured before you get in the kart. Helmets and safety gear are supplied at the track. Avoid open sandals, heels and anything that could catch.

Can I book LAPX for a group or corporate race?

Yes, and it works better as a group than solo. LAPX runs racing tournaments, team-building sessions, college outings and friends' day-outs, with multiple heats and a live leaderboard to settle it.
